Depending on when you arrive you will have time to explore some of Oslo´s sights today.

 

Take the tube up to Holmenkollen for great views of the city, or just relax by the seaside at Aker Brygge Marina.

 

A NordicVisitor representative will meet you at Oslo Gardermoen airport and take you to your hotel or guesthouse in Oslo city.

 

Spend the night in Oslo.

 

 

Day 2: Tranquil Mountain Villages

 

Start the day with a visit to the Norwegian Folk Museum in Oslo before heading out of the big city around noon in your rental car.

 

You will drive up the Hallingdal valley on your way to Geilo, one of Norway´s most well known winter sports resorts, but also a beautiful mountain village in the summer.

 

Spend the night in a hotel in Geilo.

 

 

Day 3: Glaciers, Valleys and Waterfalls on the way to Bergen

 

Continue your drive up the Hardanger Nstone-beaconsational Park until you reach the end of the Hardanger fjord.

 

On this drive you will pass some truly amazing scenery, such as the Hardanger Joekulen glacier, the highest waterfall in Norway, Voeringfossen, and the narrow Maaboedalen valley.

 

Ending your spectacular drive in Bergen in the evening, you will spend the night in your hotel or guesthouse here.

 

 

Day 4: Exploring Historical Bergen

 

Bergen is one of the places in Norway not to be missed. The city has been a trade hub for centuries and has a rich history.

 

Its UNESCO World Heritage listed Bryggen area and beautiful fish market are some of Norway´s most famous sights.

 

Enjoy the day in Bergen and spend the night here in this lively student town.

Day 5: The Sognefjord

 

Start the day by driving to Voss, the action sports capital of Norway. Here you can have a go at a vast range of extreme, and not so extreme sports.

 

Alternatively, head towards the beautiful Aurlandsfjord, and the small village of Flaam, where you can take the famous train journey up to Myrdal and back.

 

Continuing on your route, you will arrive at the bottom of Norway´s longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord.

 

Enjoy the magnificent views along the way to Sogndal, where you will spend the night.

 

 

Day 6: The Magnificent Geirangerfjord

 

Spend the morning visiting the Jostedals Glacier, the largest ice cap on mainland Europe.

 

Then follow on past the beautiful Lake Jolster, Loen and Stryn until you arrive in Hellesylt. From here a ferry will take you across the famous emerald green Geiranger fjord, one of Norway´s most photographed sceneries.

 

Spend the night in these amazing surroundings in the Geiranger area.

From Geiranger follow the scenic route to the city of Aalesund.

 

Aalesund burned to the ground in 1905 and was rebuilt in complete Art Nouveau style. It is a beautiful town to stroll around, with its beautiful architecture and cosy feel.

 

Head up to the Aksla mountain for great views of the town and its out at sea location.

 

Spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse in Aalesund.

 

 

Day 8: Olympic Spirits in Lillehammer

 

Heading out of Aalesund you will drive through the beautiful Gudbrandsdalen towards the olympic town of Lillehammer.

 

The winter olympics were hosted here in 1994, and the area offers a range of activities and sights.

 

Spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse in Lillehammer.

 

 

Day 9: Exploring Oslo

 

The drive from Lillehammer to Oslo is a short one, so you will have plenty of time to explore Oslo in the afternoon.

 

Visit the Viking ship museum or the Akershus fortress, and enjoy a meal in one of Oslo´s many excellent restaurants.

 

Spend the night in Oslo.

 

 

Day 10: Heading Home

 

If you flight leaves in the afternoon, you will have time to explore Oslo a bit more before taking the express train to Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
