After breakfast in Oslo you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Alta, well within the Arctic Circle.

In Alta you will be taken to the famous Alta Igloo Hotel, where Joanna Lumley spent the night in her BBC Documentary. See clips.

The hotel is made entirely out of ice and is situated in a vast natural reserve about 15km from Alta.

Spend the night in a room where the beds, tables, chairs and even the glasses in the bar are made of ice.

Enjoy the amazing ice sculptures and architecture of this world famous hotel, a truly once in a lifetime experience.

Head outside in the evening, the Alta Igloo Hotel´s location is perfect for northern lights on a clear night.

Day 3: Journey Through Winter Wonderland

You will have the whole morning at your own leisure at the Alta Igloo Hotel. There are many activities on offer and loads to see and do.

After lunch you will be taken by bus towards Honningsvaag. The journey goes through exceptional sceneries, frozen fjords and mountains.

You will be taken to your hotel in Honningsvaag where you will be staying for two nights.

Make sure to keep your eyes out for northern lights in the evening.

north_capeDay 4: On Top of the World at 71 Degrees North

You may have seen the ITV reality show where celebrities battle the Arctic wilderness in a goal to reach 71 Degrees North.

Luckily you wont have to brave icy nights in tents and gruelling challenges to get to the North Cape, as a warm bus will pick you up in the morning and take you to this northernmost point in Europe.

Enjoy feeling on top of the world with a glass of complimentary champagne and receive your certificate to prove you have been at 71 Degrees North!

In the afternoon you will be transferred back to Honningsvaag where you will have the rest of the evening at your own leisure in this old fishing village. Spend the night in Honningsvaag, and remember to look out for the northern lights.

Day 5: Hurtigruten Northern Lights Cruise

Early this morning you embark the world famous Hurtigruten coastal cruise ship in Honningsvaag to continue your journey south towards the city of Tromso.

The journey is incredibly scenic and as the night falls the setting is perfect to spot the northern lights on deck. The captain will even let you know over the loudspeakers if the Aurora Borealis has come out to play.

Enjoy a delicious dinner onboard or relax in your private cabin. The ship arrives in Tromso late evening, and you will spend the night in a hotel in Tromso.

dogsleighingDay 6: Husky Sledding and Exploring Tromso

Today you have the chance to explore the Arctic capital that is Tromso. Dubbed both the Gateway to the Arctic and Paris of the North, the city has plenty to offer its visitors.

Take in the views from the top of the cable car, see the Arctic Cathedral, stroll the streets and visit some of the cozy cafes in town, or visit the Polaria museum to learn more about the Arctic and meet the resident seals.

In the evening you will be picked up for your magical northern lights husky sled. At Tromso Villmarkssenter you will have a chance to learn more about Sami culture and enjoy a delicious traditional Sami supper after your thrilling Husky dog sled through the Arctic wilderness.

Tucked in under warm reindeer skins as a band of dogs pull you across the snowy landscape - there is simply no better way to hunt for the northern lights.

Spend the night in Tromso.

Day 7: Returning Home

Head back to the Tromso airport to catch your flight back to Oslo (flight included). From there you can catch your connecting flight back home (flights not included, compare cheap tickets in the box on the left).
