Northern lights is cooler than James Bond

Nordlys_over_TromsoNorthern lights have come 24th in the poll over the 100 coolest things on the planet, beating both Top Gear, Harry Potter and The Beatles, but losing out to the iPhone and eBay.

Over 3,000 who Brits voted on “The Coolest Thing on the Planet” at the OnePoll website, ranked the iPhone as ultimate cool, followed by Apple and the internet.

 

Northern lights coolest in nature

Northern lights, which is ranked 24th in the poll, is the first entry which is not a gadget, a car, a person or place.

 

No other natural phenomena make the top 100 list.

 

Where to see the northern lights

To see the northern lights in all its glory, you should travel to somewhere North, preferably within the Arctic circle.

 

Tromso in Northern Norway is the perfect place to go to experience the Aurora Borealis, and there is even a direct flight from London Gatwick.
