Norwegian wants to be bigger than SAS

The low cost airline Norwegian plans to take on SAS on long haul flights.

Owner and CEO Bjorn Kjos have great plans for the airline.

“We want to see the same revolution in long haul flights as we have seen on our short haul routes”, Kjos told dn.no.

More flights than SAS

The new plans include a goal of having more long haul aircraft than SAS within few years.

Norwegian will most likely start flying to the USA and Asia already next year and they aim to be the airliner with the newest fleet in Europe.

Ahead in the low cost market

Norwegian further aims to be right at the forefront when low cost airlines take on the long haul market.

They also aim to have the lowest costs in Europe – 10,000 passengers per employee – a figure mile high above any other airline.

Norwegian currently operates direct flights from London Gatwick to Oslo, Bergen, Tromso and Trondheim.
