Skiing in Norway
Norway is one of the very few places in Europe where you are guaranteed snow as well as hardly any lift queues, making it one of the best options for skiing holidays.
You may think that skiing in Norway would be prohibitively expensive, but in fact France, Austria and Switzerland often ends op far more expensive due to expensive lift passes, ski hire and accomodation.
In Norway you have the option of self-catering chalets and cottages, as well as hotels.
With many direct flights from the UK to Norway, and with excellent conditions well into April, Norway is rightfully becoming more and more popular for skiing holidays and short breaks.
Resorts
The biggest and best resorts lie in the South of Norway, where there are enough people to sustain larger resorts.
However, most cities will have their own local alpine slopes, often opening as early as the beginning of November.
To get the range of slopes, as well as the afterski, you need to head to the big mountains though.
Hemsedal, Hafjell, Beitostolen, Geilo, Trysil and the old Olympic site of Lillehammer are the most well known resorts in Norway, and offer excellent skiing for every ability and budget.
