The Bukta Festival

Bukta – Tromsø Open Air Festival is an annual rock festival that takes place in Tromso every year in July.

The festival area is situated on a beach, surrounded by a woodland park with the Arctic Ocean and snowcapped mountains as an exotic backdrop.

The festival provides a one-of-a-kind experience, both for its audience and for the artists who perform.

Since the beginning in 2004 the festival has grown rapidly, in both size and reputation, and established itself as one of the best and most important live-music events for rock enthusiasts in Norway.

Acclaimed rock acts like Kaiser Chiefs, Roky Ericksom, Ray Davies, The Wombats, Eagles of Death Metal, Patti Smith, Iggy & The Stooges, Kent, The Hives, Ash, The Waterboys, Calexico, Supergrass, Woven Hand, Danko Jones and Motörhead has played on the festivals main stage alongside Norwegian rock acts like Turbonegro, Dumdum Boys, Madrugada, Raga Rockers, DeLillos and Big Bang.

The festival venue has a daily capacity of 6.000 and holds two stages.

Rock Music, Beer and Seafood

The festival is built around three very important core values; rock music, beer and seafood. Plain and simple.

The organisers pride themselves on presenting what they consider to be the best rock acts around – regardless of where they come from and what genre or scene they belong to.

In 2011 the festival takes place 14.-16. july.
